The Class of 1950 will be having their 60-year reunion over Blossom. The weekend begins with a cookout on Friday, while some may move on to the All-Class Reunion at Town Hall that evening. During Saturday morning the class will get a tour of the Historical Room and in the evening there will be a get-together. Plans for Sunday are still in the works. The Class of 1960 is planning on their 50th class reunion during Blossom Weekend. The events begin on the Friday evening at the All School Reunion at the Town Hall and then Karen Johns' home for a gathering. On Saturday morning, we will visit the Philomethian School, the High School and Historical Room with a lunch to follow at Gamekeepers. In the evening, we will be having a dinner at the Chagrin Valley Country Club. On Sunday, the Blossom Race, the Parade, and a picnic at Beartown Lakes Park are planned events. Memorial Day will find us at the parade and then we will have a final get together at Karen Johns. Look for a final letter and brochure done by Terry Taggart in the mail. The Class of 1965 is planning a 45th reunion for Blossom Time / Memorial Day Weekend. (Wish we could say a 10th reunion, but that just would not pass muster). Details of the when and where are still being worked out, but at least one picnic dinner or similar event will be planned for Saturday evening, May 29, and probably a breakfast or brunch for Sunday morning as well, on May 30. So save the date.
The CF Class of 1970 is scheduled to begin the 40th Reunion Weekend on Friday Night, July 23. It will feature the return of The Renegades (a high school band) playing a set or two in the Black Box Theater on the 7 – 12 campus. Local Chagrin graduates will be invited to attend, visit, and reminisce with other graduates and listen to live oldies but goodies. A small cover charge or donation will be requested. The reunion weekend will continue on Saturday morning with a tour of the Chagrin Falls Historical Room and school. A casual dinner event will be scheduled for Saturday evening. Sunday will conclude the weekend with a late morning gathering (to be announced) for those leaving and continue until mid-day. Update and additional information will be posted on a Facebook page. Class of 1984 - The Greatest CFHS Class Ever (Source: Greg Gamm, 1992), with the incredible help of many other great CFHS alums and subway alums (aka CFHS wannabes), has been focusing hard on raising funds for the Bright Side of The Road Foundation (BSOTR) and ALS Research. Social Media (Facebook for all of the Class of 1984 who isn’t on it yet) has really helped the Foundation get its message out. But the true heroes are the personnel behind the scenes volunteering time to make this happen. Heroes like Bob Craig ’84, Jack Subel ’84, Amy Brooks O’Neil ’85, Bob Winovich ’86, Danica Winovich ‘90, and subway alums Jennifer Kreps Leonard and Krissy Steinmetz. The biggest hero of all is The Man, Barry “Beef” Winovich ‘84. He had the vision, the fortitude, and the positive attitude to make such an organization prosper. And I mean prosper. BSOTR has raised over $1M in funds for ALS Research!
This time the BSOTR Fundraising Roadies made the trip to a warmer part of the universe – Los Angeles for a February 20th gig at a hip dive called The Mint, a place where many LA Bands get their start. After enjoying the Hollywood scene full of encounters with Darth Fatter (a rubanesque replica of Darth Vader), a telephone-pole-climbing Spiderman, a Superman who could not fly (must have been Kryptonite nearby), and other questionable characters, a generous, standing-only crowd showed up to party with Barry. It featured celebrity local LA CFHS alum guest bartenders like Kevin “Amaretto Sour” Clegg ‘83, Chris “How do you make a gin and tonic” Barnes ‘84, and Matt “Happy Hour” Hanley ‘84. Other CFHS alum guests attending the gig were Carl Easly ’78, Ken “”Where’s the Chardonnay” Koprowski ’85, Kristin “Final Call” Philpott ’84, Chris “I married a Chris” Clawson Rabussay ’84, and John “How did I ever get here” Marino ’83. The party raised over $30,000 for ALS Research! Barry’s fan club has no bounds as Brian Van Holt, the actor who plays the ex-husband of Courteney Cox on her new series “Cougartown” paid a visit. Matt Jacobs ’95 also stopped by with his girlfriend Sarah Lancaster, co-star of NBC’s hit series “Chuck”. These celebrity visits rank just below an unconfirmed star sighting of Eric “Gebzzzz” Gebler ‘84 at the House of Blues Cleveland BSOTR last November. Barry has Star Power!

Class of 1985 –Your reunion committee has planned a fun-filled 25th reunion over Blossom Weekend that you won’t want to miss! For the “big event” on Saturday evening, we will take over Trifles Café. Fantastic food, a great DJ, a slide show, and a silent auction will make the evening festive! Golfers can tee up on Saturday, and runners/walkers will be needed to represent the Class of ’85 on Sunday in the Blossom Run. Families are welcome to watch the parade together on Sunday.
